Ugh.
Not now.
Please.......
As it turns out, I've got myself quite the cold. I've been laying low for the last two days and trying my best to stay hydrated, take my vitamins, eat well (nutrient-dense, clean foods) and nurse myself back to health.
I have a busy week ahead of me (3-day conference and a major interview for PA school), so this is quite unfortunate timing - ugh.
I've been sipping lots of Vitamin-loaded Green Smoothies.....

How do you bounce back quickly from a cold?
Any tips beyond hydration, rest, and vitamins?

Green tea all the way! Feel better and rock those interviews!
ReplyDeleteLet it run its course - I always fight colds and they end up taking me out for a week or more, when my friend will curl up in bed with the same cold for a day and bounce back the next. I don't take my own advice though - I always fight them!
ReplyDeleteFeel better!! It sounds like you're doing all the right things to fight this thing :) Just make sure to get plenty of rest!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you feel so bad. I hope you get back to feeling "normal" again soon.
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm sick I have soup and add cayenne pepper to it. I heard that helps.
@Becki I've been trying my best to fight the 'fighting' urge - slept at least 10 hours the last two days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice :)
@Sana Ooooh, good call!
ReplyDeletei know exactly how you feel! i am sick right now so i have to take a time out from my marathon training :( to bounce back, i am just really taking it easy over these next few days. lots of rests for this girl :)
ReplyDeleteIt was great "chatting" with you today, girlie! I hope you get plenty of rest and feel rejuvenated for Saturday! I'm sure all that delicious smoothie-slurping will do the trick. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm going to email you now about dinner dates! xoxo
I take this stuff called Yin Chiao. It works similar to Airborne but a little more potent. If you take it at the onset of a cold, it usually won't come or if it does, significantly less intense! Otherwise, what your doing. Adding garlic and ginger could help too.
ReplyDelete@Ali Ohhh good reminder! I'm going to make some fresh green juice, heavy on the ginger and garlic :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about rest! My freshmen and sophomore years of college I got hit with this terrible upper respiratory mess that would take me out during the first two weeks of fall. When I felt it coming on my 3rd year, I skipped every class (including Organic!!!), didn't go to work, and neglected all meetings. I just popped a painkiller and set water, cough drops and tissues by my pillow...and slept for the whole day and night. That's the last I saw of that pesky cold!
