BFF in the District!

What a weekend! After an amazing Friday, my best friend Alyson came to visit and apartment hunt because she's MOVING TO DC in two weeks!!! I am beyond excited!

We had some fantastic food

Gazpacho

Summer salad (lettuce and grilled tomatoes, mangoes, peaches, and a vinaigrette dressing)

White bean salad (beans, roasted peppers, tomatoes, olives, garlic, EVOO)

Went out for amazing drinks

Champagne sangria from The Gibson

Me + Alyson

Posing with the Manfriend

And ran a gorgeous 5-miler around the Potomac

Chain bridge - Arlington, VA

View from Arlington looking at Lincoln Monument

View on bridge heading back to DC

After dropping Alyson at the airport and driving home I was exhausted. For some reason, when I'm beat at night I tend to crave breakfast foods. So an egg dinner it was!

Toasted bagel thin, egg whites, laughing cow cheese and a delicious peach from our road trip

OK, I'm off! Have a great week!

Questions:

What's your go-to meal when you're exhausted?

Do you like cold soups? What are some favorites?

  6. I'm not much of a cold soups girl, but there's nothing like a good breakfast for dinner! Other meals I like when I'm exhausted are massive salads with whatever quick protein I have on hand (usually tuna, or baked chicken breast if there happens to be any in the fridge), or stir fried veggies (again, whatever ones happen to be lying around!)

PS. I responded to your comment on my blog with the link for my spectacular sandwich grilling machine!

  7. I like vichyssoise. (yep, used the spell checker on that one! LOL) It's chicken broth based, I think. Your food looked fantastic! So fresh!! :)
