How are ya?? Gettin through the week? It's been a sloooowww one for me--mainly because my research samples arrive tomorrow so this week has been nothing but prep work, data analysis, blah blah :P
In better news, it's supposed to be in the 80's this week in DC!!! Wooo for warm weather! I'm looking forward to some R&R in the SUN....and/or roof-top bar decks ;-)
Here are some eats from the last couple of days....In no particular order.

They are sold near the soups/rice are supa cheap and enough for two meals (with other veggies. etc. added). Eggplant is by far my favorite flava. Check out the ingredients. Yummmm.

Since experimentland has been pretty lax this week I've been able to sneak out a liiiittle early (well 5:30pm, haha) and workout at my leisure. I usually workout hard on the weekends (long runs, Bikram classes, etc.) but during the week I can usually only afford 45mins -1 hr. So the last two days have been glorious.
After Sunday's 11.5-miler, the legs were soooore so I marched my butt to a Bikram Yoga class. I know I've said this a million times but, Bikram you are a genius. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Class was great but I clearly forgot a change of shoes (and there was not way I was squeezing my sweaty bod into skinny jeans):
^Yep, I walked home in this. Fierce.Today I took two classes at my gym that I haven't taken in years--Total Body Conditioning (a lifting/plyometric class) and STEP!
SourceStep is the most "choreographed" workout I can handle without making a complete arse out of myself! It was fun to do something different from my normal cardio routine of running and cycling. And I definitely worked up quite a sweat! An hour of jumping off and on that thing is hard work!!
QUESTION: Have you tried any new workouts lately?? How do you mix up your workout routine??
^Snapped this pic tonight at the gym. Kinda bossy.Alright I'm gonna finish watching Family Guy (awesome episode btw) then head dreamland.
xx,
Lauren
nice eats...that breakfast cookie looks interesting...would be good with chocolate chips i think!
ReplyDeleteYayyyy for the imminent nice weather!! Can't wait :) I love how you doctored up the TJ's eggplant dish...looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThe other day I rocked my Brooks and skinny jeans when I broke a heel when staying at my BF's. It was even more stylish than your sweats and flats combo :)
Have a great hump day love!!
I have always wanted to try kale chips, and I think you just inspired me to! Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Gabriela Haha! They were actually wedges so even more hot!
ReplyDeleteFood looks great!
ReplyDeleteHey, what's that cute lil tattoo down on your ankle?
xoxo
That's funny that step is something you can handle more than other choreographed classes. It is usually the hardest one for most people. Glad you had some good workouts! And extra time this week too. :)
ReplyDeleteYum, that peanut dish sounds amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI did step aerobics years ago and I was ok at it. I have issues with coordination so I'm not about to humiliate myself in a dance class at the gym haha
I have GOT to try Bikram once I can exercise again!!!!
And aren't kale chips just absolutely amazing? love them! Awesome way to get your greens in!
Much love!
Lauren!!! Thanks so much for commenting on my blog :) I'm so happy you found it, since it lead me to yours! I love it. All your eats look delish! I'll have to try that breakfast cookie ASAP!
ReplyDeleteThat's so awesome you started your marathon running in college! Definitely motivates me even more!! I can't wait to start training. I'm just looking forward to crossing that finish line and feeling SO accomplished, ya know? :)
Thanks again for stumbling across my site! Can't wait to read more of yours!!

Hey Lauren! Thanks for stopping by my blog :) Too bad I probably won't be posting until Summer hits...but i'm glad ya found me!
ReplyDeleteLet me just say that breakfast cookie sounds amazing!! I stillll need to try one!
Ohhhh, yum, that breakfast cookie looks good. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've been having some delicious eats lately! I love kale chips - I think they make a great veggie side to any meal.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I ever tried Bikram, I got so sweaty that I was extremely uncomfortable in my clothes (I didn't bring a change of clothes, either!). I guess I've learned my lesson :)
I love Indian food! Mmmm. And I have really been wanting to try some new workouts lately! I've done HIIT and more strength training. I wish my gym had cool classes though.
ReplyDeleteNighty nite!
xoxo Caronae
80s in DC? Good, you guys deserve good weather after that hellish winter! Where in DC do you live? I'm from that area myself :-)
ReplyDeleteahh step class, i have NO idea how those instructors know all those moves to lead a whole class. I LOVE teaching spin but thats about as far as I go haha I do teach cardio sculpt classes, but I change it up every weeek and its mostly strength ttraining. The technique and moves with step is WAY beyond me! I spend more time trying to learn the moves then get in a workout haha
ReplyDeletethat breakfast cookie looks SO GOOD! and I hear you on cinnamon swirl PB...it is so good and acutally almost too sweet for me (which is good, i can't eat the whole jar!)
xoxox
yum, i need to make kale chips soon. thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeletesooo...a while ago i posted about my contest winner, and its been a while...if you want it email me your addy, otherwise i think i may pick a new winner.
Lauren!!!
ReplyDeleteI think we are going to the Cherry Blossom Parade and Japanese Festival next Saturday!! We wanted to wait and go to that!!!! I am excited to go!!! Parking is hell in DC !! We should try to get together sometime, would be fun!!!!!
Your peanut and veggie meals look amazing - loving your creativity with the veg, so good!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you are so bossy!
ReplyDeleteLove the spirialized meals....I actually have a spiralizer, but haven't used it for too much...thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE my step classes....so much fun and so heart pumping. I just have decided that I am NOT a runner...too boring for me, but butt kicking choreographed cardio? Hells to the Yeah!
Enjoy your Easter Sunday!
