Man(friend) in the kitchen!

Hellaaa,

TGIF! Hope you had a bueno week! Mine was pretty dece, can't complain. The Manfriend has been living in DC for almost two weeks so things are good in my world :P Speaking of the Manfriend, also known as Seth (or Setho), here's an old school pics of us:

^8th grade dance. How young do we look?! Lol.

We dated from 8th grade through the beginning of college, did our own thing for college then have been back together for about two years. Seth was living in LA so we did the whole long distance thing for a while. The trips to Hollywood, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, etc. were tons of fun, but seeing each other every 2 months....Not so much! Buuuut, that's all over. Seth moved to DC so I can finish my PhD then after that, who knows where we'll be :-)

Last night I planned on a spinning class, but Setho enticed me to come home after lab as he was making dinner!

^Chef Seth. Cutie, eh? ;-)

He made sauteed veggies (broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, onion) and shrimp in a spicy marinara sauce:

His was served over whole wheat pasta and mine (per request) over spiralized zucchini:

Thanks again, Seth!

After dinner, I snacked on my new favorite combo:

^Carob chips and Better N' Peanut Butter. Yeeee-UM.

And some of this guy:

^Rosemount Shriaz. My current #1.

Well I've gotta finish my experiment then hit the gym (haven't decided whether I'm run or spin yet). What are your weekend plans????

My plans seem overwhelmed by my ta-do list (in no particular order):

- Sat morn/afternoon experiments
- Date night
- Run a 12-miler
- Get bridesmaid dress fitted
- Eye appt (?)
- Movie date with Kels (sis)
- Sleeeeep
- Meet up w/ Ally and Elisa for dinner/drinks
- Bikram
- Organize lab bench (it's a messss)
- Find my keys....and why am I always losing these?

Have a FAB weekend!!

QUESTION: What are some of the most fun bachelorette parties you've been to?? I'm currently planning one and need some original ideas!

xx

Lauren

  2. My bachlorette party was awesome! I don't like to drink and am really laid back, so we just had a really fun girls night in! They made the best food (veggie sushi and home-made pizza as well as ice cream sundaes!) and the decorations were out of control amazing! We had girly movies on in the background and trashy tabloid mags to read. They also got a manicurist to come for a few hours and give us all mani-pedis! It was crazy fun and very different!
Also wanted to say that I am moving to DC in a few months! I was a chemistry/biology major in college and thought about getting my PHD as well. Good luck with everything!

  3. Aww, I love that pic...I'm a sucker for happy endings! You two are adorable together :)

I'm currently planning a bachelorette party, too! We're thinking NYC (convenient, since I live here!), and going with a Sex and the City theme. Cosmos, fun dinner, scavenger hunt and shoes! Good luck planning!

  5. Seth and you are an adorable pair Lauren. Plus it looks like he comes in handy in the kitchen, which is a bonus!

My weekend plans include the hockey game tonight and an indulgent birthday "day/evening" for my Best Gal tomorrow - afternoon cupcakes & champagne, glitzy-kitschy shopping, facials, dins & dancing!

Bachelorettes - I really like Gabriela's Sex & the City theme & activities - "dare lists" are also fun for the bride to do:)

Loved your comment - of course we can hang out! P.S. I may have quoted you in today's post, lol.

    Have a fab weekend, xoxo

  7. awwww!!!!!! cutest picture ever :)

thanks for your comment- to be honest, food thoughts do not occupy me as much at all anymore!! i love randomly taking pictures of my foods, but don't really do it most of the time anymore anyways. Eating interesting/healthy meals interests me and i think blogging about it makes the blog a little more interesting! adds some color- ya know !

  8. Sounds like you've scored yourself a keeper :) And I've never been to a bachelorette party so I have no idea -- I'm a bit young for them ,I suppose (20 yo). Good luck with the planning!

  9. For my sisters party we went to this crazy cajun restaurant for dinner and drinks then made it to the crazy margarita place in Lubbock for more drinks and a good time. My sister is pretty low key so she just wanted to something fun but not super crazy at the same time....she loved it :-) Good luck planning yours! I bet it will turn out great!
