Today is snow day #2 in the District. So far we've accumulated 25 inches and are expected to get another 18-20 tonight/tomorrow!!! Seriously, where am I???
I woke up and brewed a perfect cup-o-joe:
^Coffee, steamed soy, and cinnamonThen made breakfast (inspired by Fitnessista's creation):
^Diced honey crisp apple, 1/8 cup Kashi Go lean, 1/2 cup Trader Joe's High Fiber Cereal, vanilla almond milk, and cinnamonHaving quite a bit of cabin fever, I ventured aka skated my way to the gym...I mean there's only so much napping, TV, and trash magazines one can take ;-) I know you feel sooooo bad for me, ha.
Pic from skating/sliding down the miniature sidewalk:

And lack of sidewalks:

Fortunately, I made it to the gym in once piece and without slipping (major for me!). For some reason, that last thing I wanted to do was step foot on a machine. I get reeeeally bored on conventional workout machines, esp. the treadmill. I can get myself to do maaaaaybe 4-5 miles - tops. By that time I'm sick of starting at my reflection and so I peace.
Yesterday however, I tried something new. I love spinning classes but I've never done a class on my own and certainly never one conducted by a little man on a TV.
45- min Endurance class:
^ Like my clutch? I forgot my lock, ha.Little man:

Overall, I thought it was pretty good. The little man was a little cheezeball, but there was a nice CNN flat screen in view :-)
After the gym I stopped by Dean & Deluca for some coconut water (a new obsession of mine). I had mango:

Check out these nutrition stats!

After making it safely home, I cooked up a pretty delish dinner for me and Kels (sistah).
Roasted brussel sprouts (EVOO spray, sea salt pepper, drizzled with Trader Joe's Goddess Dressing):

Garlic chili talapia (Dried red pepper flakes, parsley, garlic, red chili powder, EVOO, sea salt, pepper):

I also made sweet potato fries cause I was craaaaving them (EVOO spray, sea salt, pepper, side of organic ketchup):
^Y.U.MWell I leave you with an image of an "incident" I had the other day when attempting to make coffee:

Yes, that is the vacuum cleaner sticking into the coffee machine because I poured coffee GRAINS in the WATER part!!!! ahhhhh, That was NOT a fun cleaning experience. I'm such a klutz sometimes!!!!
Have a great night!!
Lauren
Question: Are you a klutz like me?? How so??
Shitty! You couldn't just turn it upside down?
ReplyDeleteHaha, I tried to vacuum lint out of the dryer lint holder after I dismantled it. The worst case was when I dropped tweezers in the lint compartment and had to retrieve them. I can't even remember why I had tweezers in the dryer. Do you have to have twitter for the give away? I don't tweet...
ReplyDeleteI know the weather is probably annoying to you but i'm so jealous. I live in Georgia and it flurried ONCE for a grand total of... .25 inches!

My poor husband is blown away by how klutzy I am, god knows I try to be careful haha...OMG you should see me on our sailboat out on Lake Michigan...can't remember how many times I've stubbed my toes on all the silly metal stuff on boats, not to mention banging my head on the SAME piece of the boat everytime time...yikes !! Surprisingly I haven't fallen off the boat yet... must have a guardian angel or something.
Stay warm

Hi! New reader, here!
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty cool spinning bike! We only have spin bikes in the spin classroom, so it's hard to grab one outside of class time.
Hope you guys defrost up there soon!
